            This Planet’s Population Rose 

            By One!  She Was I!  Then He Chose 

            To Lay His Pen Down for Some Time, 

            Till Audrey Called, Asked for a Rhyme 

            To Fete My Very First Birthday, 

            Say, “Hey, My Name is Audrey Mae!” 

 

            Audrey Called Each Week When She Could! 

            Till Soon It Became Understood 

            A Poem On Each Saturday 

            Was Such a Tiny Price to Pay 

            For All Those Calls Throughout the Week! 

            Some to Thank!  Some to Give a Peek 

            At What Adventures Mom’s Lined Up! 

            Or Just to Talk About Our Pup!

     We Left You Last Week In Utah! 

     We Get You Might Think That You Saw 

     Bryce Canyon and Zion’s Best Views! 

     Dear Readers We’ve Got News for Yous! 

 

     We Started Low on the Ground Floor 

     Aware There Would Be So Much More 

     Work to Hike Above Clouds’ Ceiling!  

     Lessons Abound!  So I’m Feeling! 

 

     Some Legs Were Gradual Inclines! 

     Some So Steep They Boggled Our Minds! 

     Of Course, There was Celebration 

     For Changes in Elevation! 

 

     Just When Exhaustion Gained a Grip, 

     Mom Changed the Tenor of Our Trip! 

     We’d Meet Our Journey’s Goals, of Course, 

     But This Time Mounted on a Horse! 

 

     Too Soon ‘Twas Time Aud Drove Us Home! 

     We’ll Be Back Once Again to Roam 

     Utah’s Vast Mountain Trails We’ll Miss 

     Trails and Clean Air … And One Sweet Kiss!
