There’s Some Things I Would Never Say,
Like, “Happy Memorial Day!”
This Day is Reserved for the Men
And Women We Won’t See Again!
Those Who Gave Their Last Full Measure
Of Devotion … All They Treasure …
Lost Their Lives Fighting to Protect
Us All! They Have
Earned Our Respect!
I’ve Grown Up in That Large Shadow
Of Men and Women Who All Know
They Could Be the Next Called Upon
Who’s Sacrifices Go Beyond
The Crossroads of Life and of Love!
These are Who Preachers All Speak of,
“No Greater Love Hath Any Man
Or Woman …” They Gave
All They Can!
Stand for Our Anthem!
Doff Your Hat!
Respect! Reflect! Show the World That
You Know Why It’s a Sin to Say,
“Hey, Happy Memorial Day!”
Your Grampa Sure Loves Y’All!
