  She Never Noticed When I Left!

  I Hope My Ghost’s Not Too Bereft!

  Next, I Should Be Starting Sixth Grade

  Most Say That Start Will Be Delayed!

  Last Year, I Couldn’t Conceive It!

  Based on This Year … I Believe It!

  I Miss My Teachers … Miss My Friends!

  I’m Praying This Pandemic Ends

  Before Each Guy Friend Has a Beard

  And My School Years Have Disappeared!

A Bladder Makes a Sweet Pillow!

The Sacrifices Our Mom Makes

Don’t Start That First Time Her Child Takes

And Don’t Forget All the New Clothes!

All Chic and Stylish, You’d Suppose!

Not Chic!  Not Stylish!  These are Meant!

To Dress Pregos or Build a Tent!

Why Would a Girl, Some Still Near Youth,

Go Through the Changes Moms Go Through?

Decide In This Corona Storm

Her Skills and Talents Are All Meant

To Be Used In Some Testing Tent!

For Longer Than A Working Day,

She Braves the Dangers While We Pray

There’s Masks and Gloves and Gowns For Her

And All Who Work to Find a Cure!

Some Say Mom Doesn’t Have to Go

In Harm’s Way!  Those Folks Just Don’t Know

The Strong, Brave Heart That Defines Her!

She Has to Fight!  That’s Mom, For Sure!

In the Midst of All This We Say,

  Not At Church, It Hardly Seemed Real!

  All Day I Felt This Nagging Guilt!

  But We Still Heard the Choir’s Lilt!

  We Saw the Rev’rend on TV

  Deliver His Sermon to Me!

  Prob’ly His Whole Congregation!

  Who Knows, Maybe Our Whole Nation!

  After TV Church, Mom Had Us

  Recall the Key Points and Discuss

  The Meaning of True Faith and Hope

  And Why Easter Can Help Us Cope!

  Then Bingo, Presto, In a Flash,

  We Ventured Forth to Find the Stash

  Of Goodies That the Bunny Hid!

  He Got Tricky, That Bunny Did!

  But My Sister’s Fifteen Years Young!

  Twenty~Six Years We've Combined Fun;

  Won’t Stay Fooled By No Floppy Tail!

  We Searched Smart!  And We Did

About Our Senior Citizens!

Protect Them from Folks Ignorin’

The CDC Regs, "Stay at Home!"

Avoid Travel, Espec’lly Rome!

But Wait!   We Live in One Great Age

When Virtual is All the Rage!

We Skype!   We Text!  We’re Not Alone!

Connect with LapTops or Cell Phone!

And These are Skills Easily Taught

To Grandparents!   Now What They’ve Got

Is Trips to Museums and Zoos!

To Broadway Shows Sure to Amuse!

The Old Folks Say, “This Too Shall Pass!”
