        Each Loving Tale Tells a Story

        Of Adventures and of Glory!

        Mom, Iz and Bonez, They All Co-Star!

        Every Weekend ... Well ... So Far!

        That First Time Grampa Wrote My Rhyme

        I Said, "Please Do That One More Time!"

        Since Then It Seems, Those Weeks They Flew!

        Those Weeks He Captured, Rhymed Anew!

        Now Here's a Fact You've Gotta Hear!

        This Poem Makes It One Straight Year

        Each Saturday for Fifty-Two

        My Special Poems Have Come Through!

        I Guess We'll Have to Wait and See

        If There's Another Rhyme 'Bout Me!

        To Start Year Two, Will Some Verse Say,

        Please Never Tell Me Your Secrets!
        We Both Know That You'd Have Regrets!
        Cuz I'm a Girl Who Blurts Things Out!
        My Whispers Sounds Quite Like Your Shout!

        Your Secrets are NOT Safe with Me!
        That's Not Because Delib'rately
        I'd Violate Some Sacred Trust!
        Just I'm a Secret~Keeping Bust!

        This Girl is the Talkative Type!
        In Any Group, I Love the Hype!
        Sometimes the Words Flow Passed My Lips
        Before I Can Take Back My Quips!

        I Would Never Want to Trifle!
        But I Never Learned to Stifle!
        I'm More the Expressive Sort!
        What I Hear I Just Must Report!

        Fear Not!   Should Secrets Need Tellin'
        Guess Who's Jellin' Like a Felon?
        That Would be Bonez the Wonder Dog
        Who's Guarded in His Dialogue!

            Just Two Days Till Valentine's Day!

            With Lots of People In My Heart,

            There's Candy, Cards and Calls to Start.💖

                            

            I Know, If You Could Read My Mind,

            Fer Sure You'd See My Valentine! 

            Plus Iz and Bonez and Mommy Too!

            There's So Much Work I Have To Do.💖 

            My Teacher Gets a Heart-Felt Note

            For All Those Times She Could'a Wrote

            And Mentioned I Talked Once or Twice.

            But Mostly, 'Cause She's Really Nice.💖 

            There's Aunts and Uncles, Kids at School,

            Faith, Pat and Johnnie.  They're So Cool!

            My Grands and Each Neat Cousin Blends,

          💖They're Both Like Family and Like Friends. 

            When All My Cards and Calls Are Done,

            Will I Be Asked By Anyone?

            Will Someone Special Think It's Fine

            To Have Me For Their Valentine?💖

                        Chinese New Year!

            Hey, Hey, My Name is Audrey Mae!

            Guess What?  It's Chinese New Years Day!

            And Though You Might Think It Funny,

            This is the Year of the Bunny!

            Four Thousand, Seven Hundred, Nine ...

            As New Years Go, This Year's Divine!

            They Taught Me at the Y and School

            Why Chinese Celebrate So Cool?

            While Many Colored Dragons Twirl,

            Costumes Adorn Each Boy and Girl!

            I Hear the Drums Beat!  There's a Kite!

            Those Evil Spirits Flee in Fright!

            When All Those Fire Crackers Crack!

            No Evil Spirit Dares Come Back!

            Confetti's Falling Everywhere!

            Confetti's In In My Sister's Hair!

            'Fore Long, a Panda and a Dragon

            Team to Pull Kids in a Wagon!

            Some Throw Real Far!   Others Toss Near!

               My Best Friend!

         Of All the Things I Love to Do,

         And You Know Me, That's Quite a Few!

         One Favorite in This Whole Wide World

         Is Spending Time With My Main Girl!

         

         Hey, Hey, My Name is Audrey Mae!

         I Had a Play Date Saturday!

         With Best Friend Faith, We Watched the Court!

         Hoops is Faith's Sister, Loren's Sport!

         How Awesome is Sister Loren?

         She Stops!   She Pops!   The Ball Goes In!

         Then Back to Faith's House!   It's Not Far!

         That's Where We Drive Her Plasma Car!

         

         We Ride on Scooters, Share Her Toys!

         I'd Guess We Make Our Share of Noise!

         But Her Mom Never Seems to Mind!

         Like My Mom, Hers is Really Kind!

         We Never Fight!   We Always Laugh!

         It's Like Faith is My Better Half!

         I Know When We Are Old, Like Ten,

         That Faith Will Still Be My Best Friend!

            What I Love Most 'bout Being Big

            Is Those Days When I Get the Gig

            Of Taking Care Of Isabelle!

            My Isabelle Likes It Just Swell!

            I Give My Mother Time To Breath

            As Long as Iz and I Don't Leave

            Mom's Sight!   I Teach Iz to Dance Some!

            She Squats Her Knees and Shakes Her Bum!
                   
               

            Hey, Hey, My Name Is Audrey Mae!

            Right Now I'm Teaching Iz to Play

            With Barbies!  This Much I Can Tell!

            She Undresses Them Really Well!

            I Take Her Little Hand In Mine

            And With My Mom, Set Out to Find

            The Smallest Swings in Our Huge Park!

            We Swing and Slide Till Almost Dark!

            Tonight, I'm Her Favorite Teach'a!

            'Cause Class is, "How to Eat Pizza!"

            Next Week I'll Add to What Iz Knows!

            When We Dissect Bean Burritos!

        Where Grampa Lives a Blizzard Hit!

        That Blizz Brought Tons of Snow With It!

        So Now As Far As He Can See

        The Earth is Draped In Snow's Beauty!    

   

                  

        Three Thousand Miles From Grampa's Place

        My San Diego School Kept Pace!

        You Should Have Seen My Classmate's Eyes

        When Snow Appeared to Our Surprise!

        Hey, Hey, My Name Is Audrey Mae!

        At School, I Had My First Snow Day!

        Huge Trucks, Laden Down With White Stuff,

        Came To School To Dump Their Cold Fluff!

        We Dressed In Boots and Strange, Warm Clothes!

        We Had To, Or We Would'a Froze!

        In Minutes Snowballs Filled The Air!
        Kids Running, Screaming, Everywhere!

        

        Some Sledded Down Our Killer Hills!

        I Did!   And I Survived the Spills!

        San Diego Snow Day's Intense!

        For Kids Who Were ... In Attendance!

                      Last Night My Family Went To See

                      The Movie Tangled In Three D!

                      Rapunzel With Her Long Blonde Hair

                      Stuck in a Tower Way Up There!

                      Hey, Hey, My Name Is Audrey Mae!

                      I Fell Asleep Late Yesterday

                      And Dreampt a Dream So Real, Of Course,

                      I Rode on Maximus, the Horse!

                      With Pascal, My Cameleon,

                      Armed With My Caste Iron Frying Pan,

                      We Make a Pretty Brave, Tough Pair!

                      Just Ask Flynn Rider's Dented Hair!

                      At Snuggly Duckling, Those Pub Thugs

                      Look Mean!   But They Just Need Some Hugs!

                      Hook-Hand and His Friends Help Us Hide

                      From Palace Guards!   Then Off We Ride!

                      That's How It Went For Me All Night!

                      As Rapunzel, I'd Run or Fight!

                      I Wake, Exhausted, Gasping Air!

                      Who Stole My Super Long Red Hair?

       Us Left Coast Girls Party Hearty!

       Start At Noon So We're Not Tardy!

       Sister Iz, That Little Rock Star,

       On New Year's Eve, She's Best By Far!

       Our Chinese Food, It Does Arrive

       About a Quarter After Five!

       Who Knows What "Moo Goo Gai Pan" Is?

       But Just the Sound Sets Sister Iz

              

       To Laughing Fits, So Contagious,

       She Gives Her Laugh to All of Us!

       It's Hard to Do the Simplest Thing

       Bent Over, Red-Faced, Knee Slapping!

       Iz Made Me Drop the Egg Drop Soup,

       Before My Mom Could Get a Scoop!

       But 'Fore It Ever Hit The Floor

       I "Moo Goo Gai" Iz Just Once More!

       Mom Catches Iz' Laugh!   No Tee Hee!

       Best Not Laugh and Eat Chop Suey!

       'Tween Belly Laughs, I Clearly See,

       Iz Laughing Means ... More Food For Me!

            All Year We Wait For Christmas Day!

            Twas Christmas Day So Long Ago

            Jesus was Born!   We Love Him So!

                       

            Three Wise Men Came to That Manger!

            They Brought Gold and Two Things Stranger!

            When They Beheld the New Born King,

            All Heard a Choir of Angels Sing!

            In Bethlehem the Hopes and Dreams

            Of All Mankind Blossomed It Seems!

            Now When We Think 'Bout Jesus Birth,

            We Feel the Love and Peace on Earth!
