The Importance of What Each Did!

Breaking the Pull of Kin and Home

To Face Up to a Fierce Unknown!

In Every War We’ve Ever Fought

More Times I’m Sure, Than We Have Thought,

Those Back Home Dealt With the Notion …

“Last Full Measure of Devotion!”

Memorial Day’s Set Aside

For Love and Gratitude and Pride!

For Those Who Never Did Return!

And Each Vet Who Did Surely Earn

The Thanks of a Grateful Nation

For Selfless Participation!

Some Live, We Know, With Injury

Suffered to Help Keep Us All Free!
